Downloading the 1.4.382 Patch

The latest version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is 1.9.388110, and that's what you get when you download it from Steam. Our mod has been developed for an older version (1.4.382), and thus after installing the game you will need to downgrade. Unfortunately, the developer doesn't make older versions of the game available, and we can't host the files here because it would constitute copyright infringement. We must therefore resort to Googling.

1. Open www.google.com
2. Search this: teknomw3 1.4.382 patch
3. Pick a trustworthy looking download
4. After you've downloaded it, I recommend you check it with VirusTotal; if there're more than 1-2 detections, find something else.
5. Most of these downloads're packed in a RAR or a ZIP archive. To extract them, you will need an archiving program; I personally recommend 7-Zip. After you download and install it, unzipping the patch archive's simple; just right click on it, then go to the 7-Zip submenu and click 'Extract to ..'
6. Now you simply extract the archive to the ROOT directory of your CoD: MW 3 folder overwriting all files (If it prompts you to)

❗ The Client only needs the iw5mp.exe and localized_ui_mp.ff of version 1.4.382, the rest of the files aren't needed (backup both original files).
❗ The Server only needs the iw5mp_server.exe of version 1.4.382, the rest of the files aren't needed (backup original file).

❗ If you're not going to download the game in English, read this: How can I play TeknoMW3 in any language? If you are not able to do it, think twice before downloading the game in another language (which you could read this to know how to download it in English..basically, the 'PS' of step 5: How to verify my game files with Steam? Update 1.4.382

• TeknoMW3 doesn't provide any kind of CoD: MW 3 files to people (base game, updates, DLCs, etc.), since it doesn't support piracy.
• But that doesn't mean that we can't tell you all the necessary files (and their Checksum) to verify that you have everything you need.
• To verify the Checksum, you can use HashCheck (you will have to download one of the Checksums, move it to where you have Patch 1.4.382 and open the file so that it starts to verify everything).

Files affected by language

• If you have the game in Spanish you should get the 1.4.382 files for the game in Spanish. So here are the files that change according to the language.

How can I play TeknoMW3 in any language?

• As we always say, you need Update 1.4.382 to play. Although you only need 2 files (in the case of the client), one of them changes according to the language (localized_ui_mp.ff)
• All because the only error is that 'I try to create a class, and all weapons are black / grey'. And we've only found this file for the game in English, German and Italian
• ⚠️ Everything you're going to read, it's based on: CoD: MW 3 - Dedicated Server and using only the iw5mp.exe, iw5mp_server.exe and zoneenglishlocalized_ui_mp.ff files of 1.4.382

But not everything is lost!

• The only error that happens when using localized_ui_mp.ff (from the English game) in another language, is the error Couldn't load image 'specialty_new'
• You could therefore 'bypass' that error by making a few small modifications

🛠️ Manual Mode

Step 1

• Rename your zonespanishlocalized_ui_mp.ff to localized_ui_mp.ff.bak (if you have the game in 'Russian', it will be 'zonerussianlocalized_ui_mp.ff'..and so on)
• Download Update 1.4.382, and copy its zoneenglishlocalized_ui_mp.ff and paste it into your zonespanish

Step 2

• Create a backup of your mainlocalized_spanish_iw00.iwd, since you will edit the original (if you have the game in 'Russian', it will be 'mainlocalized_russian_iw00.iwd'..and so on)
• Open this file with 7-Zip or other
• Go to the images folder and extract the file specialty_new_nonenglish.iwi (be careful, extract..the file must still be there, but you'll have a copy on your desktop or wherever)
• Rename the specialty_new_nonenglish.iwi you extracted, to specialty_new.iwi
• Add this file to your mainlocalized_spanish_iw00.iwd (inside the images folder)

Step 3

• There you go..now everything's supposed to be working perfectly.

🤖 Semi-Auto Mode

Step 1

• Rename your zonespanishlocalized_ui_mp.ff to localized_ui_mp.ff.bak (if you have the game in 'Russian', it will be 'zonerussianlocalized_ui_mp.ff'..and so on)
• Download Update 1.4.382, and copy its zoneenglishlocalized_ui_mp.ff and paste it into your zonespanish

Step 2

• Download and extract the TeknoMW3-MultiLang-Generator.7z
• Move the 7za.exe and MultiLang-Generator.bat to the main folder of the CoD: MW 3
• Run MultiLang-Generator.bat (with or without administrator, it doesn't matter)
• If everything is OK, you will see that both files were deleted and that you now have an a_MultiLang.iwd (and within this, a images folder which will have the specialty_new.iwi).

⚠️ NOTE

• It has been verified that this method works with French and Spanish ✅
• Unable to verify with Japanese, Polish and Russian ❗
  • This doesn't mean it doesn't work, I just can't make sure you have to edit the 'mainlocalized_XXXXXX_iw00.iwd'
• You should not follow this guide if you have English, German or Italian ❌
  • Since you can 'quickly' find localized_ui_mp.ff in those languages.
